Scan methods
Section titled “Scan methods”| Method | When to use |

| USB barcode scanner (keyboard wedge) | Most lanes — scans into focused search or global wedge hook |
| Camera scanner modal | Tablets / phones without wedge |
| Manual entry | Type SKU or barcode in search |
- Open Sale.
- Focus search (optional for wedge) or open Scan.
- Scan product barcode.
- If product has variations, pick SKU in modal.
- Line added with qty 1 — adjust qty as needed.
Weighted / grocery barcodes

Stock rules
Section titled “Stock rules”- If qty exceeds on-hand and negative stock is off → add blocked with stock message.
- Pack/case SKUs may pool sellable units on base variation.
Expected result
Section titled “Expected result”Correct product (and variation) added at correct price.
